Widow of Liberian Folklorist & Essayist Bai T. Moore Dies at 79

Monrovia – The Bai T. Moore family, with profound regret and deep sadness, announces that the mortal remains of their fallen mother, Madam Gillian Tulay Moore; widow of the late Bai T. Moore, will be laid to rest on Saturday, 10 September 2016.

Mother Moore, in her 79th year, died during the evening hours of Thursday, 11 August 2016, following a brief period of ailment.

Her remains will be removed from the Stryker Funeral Parlor on 9 September 2016, at 4 P.M. and taken to the St. Thomas Episcopal Church located on Camp Johnson Road, Monrovia, for wake-keeping at 6 P.M. the same day.

Funeral services over her remains are scheduled for Saturday, 10 September 2016 at 9 A.M., at the same church, after which she will be taken to Dimeh, Bomi County, where she will be interred alongside the grave of her late husband, acclaimed Liberian poet, Bai T. Moore.

She leaves to mourn her loss four children, including Liberian photojournalist and Managing Editor of the Images Magazine, Mr. Sando J. Moore; the visionaire of the USA-based Shepherds International Outreach Network, Mrs. Jacquelyn Moore-Russell; Mr. Bai T. Moore, Jr. and Mrs. Tito G. Moore Kesselly of the USA; several brothers and sisters of the Tulay family, grand and great-grand children, and a host of other relatives and friends.
