MONROVIA — Newly appointed Downtown Football Club head coach Gerald Julius has resigned from his position before taking charge of the club in a single competitive match, FrontPage Africa has learned.

Julius’ departure comes shortly after his appointment to lead the club’s technical team, bringing his brief tenure at Downtown FC to an abrupt end ahead of the new season.
According to multiple sources close to the club and the coach, Julius stepped down following disagreements within the club concerning aspects of its management structure and technical setup.
The sources, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to address the media, said the conflict involved differences over how the technical department was expected to function and its relationship with club executive management.
