Monrovia – Former Monrovia City Mayor and Secretary General of the opposition Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), Jefferson Tamba Koijee, has earned a Master’s degree in Counterterrorism and International Security from Reichman University in Israel.
Koijee, who served as Mayor of Monrovia for six years, announced the achievement through videos and photographs shared on social media following his graduation ceremony.
“I was conferred with a Master’s degree in Counterterrorism, Intelligence, and International Security (Government) from Reichman University, one of Israel’s most prestigious private universities, educating students from over 90 countries around the world,” Koijee said in a message shared via WhatsApp.
The announcement has sparked widespread congratulatory messages across social media, with supporters, friends, and political associates praising the CDC stalwart for furthering his education.
Among those congratulating Koijee was social commentator and advocate Wantoe Teah Wantoe, who wrote on Facebook:
“Congratulations to Mayor Jefferson Koijee on earning a Master of Arts in Government from the Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy and Strategy at Reichman University in Israel, along with a Graduate Certificate in Counter Terrorism and Homeland Security.
“The Lauder School is internationally recognized in political science and government studies, with its programs ranked among leading institutions globally. This achievement reflects a commitment to learning, leadership, and self-development.”
Another Facebook user, Michael Klechee, commended Koijee for investing in his personal and professional growth.
“He’s wise. Developing and equipping himself for tomorrow,” Klechee wrote, urging young people to prioritize education and self-improvement.
Koijee’s latest academic accomplishment comes as he remains one of Liberia’s most prominent opposition political figures and a leading voice within the CDC.
