MONROVIA-The Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE) has congratulated Muslims for what it termed a “peaceful observance” of the holy month of Ramadan, characterized by devotion, sacrifice, and spiritual renewal.

In a statement marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, the party extended Eid al-Fitr greetings to Muslims across Liberia and around the world, while using the occasion to highlight what it describes as pressing national concerns over the country’s economic stability and sovereignty.
The message, issued on behalf of the party’s Political Leader and Standard Bearer, Ambassador Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr., along with its National Executive Committee, praised the role of prayer and fasting in fostering national unity during what it called “perilous times” for Liberia.
“MOVEE extends profound greetings and congratulations to all Muslims across Liberia and the world for peacefully observing the Holy Month of Ramadan with unwavering devotion and piety,” the statement noted.
The party said it remains hopeful that the spiritual significance of Ramadan, marked by reflection, discipline, and compassion, will translate into sustained resilience, particularly at a time when many Liberians continue to grapple with economic hardship.
Linking faith to governance and national direction, MOVEE emphasized that the month-long period of fasting and prayer should inspire renewed commitment among citizens and leaders alike to work toward peace, unity and prosperity.
“As Muslims climax this sacred period with the joyous celebration of Eid al-Fitr, we recognize the importance of their prayers for Liberia’s peace and stability,” the statement added.
The party further described Ramadan as a critical moment for “sober reflection and renewal,” urging Liberians to seek divine guidance in addressing the country’s challenges.
“MOVEE sees Ramadan as an important period to reaffirm our collective commitment to God, asking for continued guidance and protection for our nation,” the statement said, expressing optimism that the blessings of the season would help steer Liberia toward a brighter and more inclusive future.
As Muslims celebrate Eid across Liberia, messages of goodwill from political institutions such as MOVEE underscore the intersection of faith, governance, and national discourse, particularly at a time when economic concerns remain at the forefront of public debate.
