MONROVIA –The Liberia Research and Development Networks has donated a consignment of operational equipment to the Liberia National Police (LNP) aimed at strengthening law enforcement capacity.

The presentation ceremony was held at the LNP Headquarters in Monrovia where senior police officials formally received the items intended to enhance operational readiness and officer safety.
The donated materials include sets of police uniforms, riot gear, holsters, duty belts, handcuffs, body armour bags, jackets and other essential field equipment.
The items are expected to support frontline officers engaged in routine patrols, public order management, and specialized assignments.
Presenting the items on behalf of the organization’s Executive Director, G. Gibson N. Flomo, emphasized that the donation reflects a commitment to supporting national security institutions.
He noted that the Liberia Research and Development Networks recognizes the central role of the LNP in maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety across the country.
“We view the Liberia National Police as a key partner in national development,” Mr. Flomo stated during the ceremony. “Supporting and strengthening the work of the police remains a priority for our institution.”
According to Mr. Flomo, the donation was made possible through the initiative and leadership of the organization’s Executive Director, John S.M. Yormie, who is currently based in the United States and continues to mobilize support for institutional development efforts in Liberia.
Receiving the items on behalf of the LNP, Cllr. J. Nelson Freeman, Deputy Inspector General of Police for Operations, expressed appreciation for what he described as a timely and impactful intervention.
Cllr. Freeman assured the donor that the materials would be deployed appropriately to enhance operational effectiveness across various police units.
He also commended Executive Director Yormie for his continued support and demonstrated commitment to strengthening Liberia’s security sector.
The donation comes at a time when security institutions are increasingly seeking partnerships with private organizations and members of the diaspora to address logistical gaps and improve service delivery.
