Jakemat Anointed Boimah, a 13-year-old defender and 10th grader, has been with EFA for the past three years.
Boimah said he aspires to become a professional footballer and expressed his excitement over the skills he acquired while competing against other clubs in Thailand during the BVB Youth Football Tournament.
Boimah explained that upon arriving in Bangkok, the team, led by Head Coach Jawee Queyah, participated in several on and off-field training programs designed to prepare them for the tournament.
Out of five games played, EFA won four and lost only one, the grand finale against Borussia Dortmund ultimately finishing as runner-up.
He emphasized that the visit marked the first time the academy provided such an international opportunity for its players.
Boimah expressed gratitude to Fallah Johnson, the founder and administrator of EFA, for his leadership and vision in making the trip possible.
“First, I’m pleased to say thank you to my beloved parents for their continued support in both my classroom education and football career, because it was through their help that I traveled with the EFA squad to Bangkok, Thailand. I also thank our academy boss, Fallah Johnson, because it was through his ingenuity that our dream of travelling abroad to display our football talents and gain more skills in the game became a reality,” Boimah said.
The young defender added that he devoted his full attention to the academy’s training programs while in Bangkok, which allowed him to showcase his abilities as a defender against strong international opponents.
“The training and the matches helped me improve my skills significantly, and I am now more confident in my abilities on the field,” he said.
