Liberia: GSA Installs Air Conditioners Ahead of President Boakai’s State of the Nation Address

Monrovia – The General Services Agency (GSA) has installed two air conditioners on stage, positioned on either side of the podium, in preparation for President Joseph Boakai’s upcoming State of the Nation Address.

The move is seen as a precautionary step to avoid a repeat of last year’s incident, when the president was briefly taken off the stage during his inaugural speech due to apparent heat exhaustion.

The GSA’s decision has sparked mixed reactions on social media. Many have praised the government agency for taking the necessary measures to ensure the comfort of the president during the address. However, some opposition figures have criticized the installation, viewing it as an indication that the president may not be in optimal health to continue leading the country.

The installation of the air conditioning units underscores the growing attention to President Boakai’s health and stamina as he enters his second term in office, and the varying political responses highlight the ongoing political discourse surrounding his leadership.
