Liberia: Battery Factory Community Inducts New Leadership

In his acceptance speech, Chairman Joseph K. Yorwatei, who is returning for a second term, thanked the community for their renewed trust in his leadership.

Monrovia – The Battery Factory community in Gardnersville Township has inducted a new corps of officers to lead its development efforts for the next three years. The newly elected leadership includes Joseph K. Yorwatei – Chairman (re-elected), Maima D. Watson – Co-Chair, Emmanuel H. Tongie – General Secretary, Amb. Musa B. Saryon – Financial Secretary, Korto Togba – Treasurer, Emmanuel Sellu – Youth Chairman, Armah Fahnbulleh – Co-Chair and George Kamara – Secretary.

A representative from the office of District 13 Representative Edward P. Flomo addressed the gathering, commending the peaceful election process and pledging continued support for the community’s development. The representative assured residents of collaborative efforts with the new leadership to ensure the successful implementation of future projects.

In his acceptance speech, Chairman Joseph K. Yorwatei, who is returning for a second term, thanked the community for their renewed trust in his leadership.

Reflecting on his first term, Yorwatei highlighted key achievements, including road construction and the expansion of electricity access within the community. However, he acknowledged challenges that hindered the completion of certain initiatives

“I sincerely apologize for the shortcomings during my previous term,” Yorwatei said. “I assure you that I will work tirelessly to address those issues and deliver on the promises made to our community.”

He outlined ambitious plans for the next three years, which include installing a piped water system, refurbishing the community’s soccer pitch, and constructing a new youth center to foster youth engagement.

Despite initial challenges, the induction ceremony marked a fresh start for the Battery Factory community, with a focus on unity and progress.

Residents expressed optimism about the future, emphasizing the importance of the new leadership’s commitment to improving infrastructure and addressing the needs of young people.

As the new administration begins its term, the Battery Factory community looks forward to a period of transformation and development under the leadership of Chairman Yorwatei and his team.
