The Editor,
Is the President ignorant of the law that criminalizes homosexuality in Liberia? Please…..
Back in 2012, when she met with Tony Blair (British PM), this same President defended criminalizing homosexuality in Liberia.
“We like ourselves the way we are” and “We got certain traditional values in our society that we would like to preserve.”
(Re “Nobel peace prize winner defends law criminalizing homosexuality in Liberia”, The Guardian, March 19, 2012)
But today, the President changed her tune when she met with the Canadian Prime Minister (Trudeau)…(Re “No Law Restricts Rights of Individuals in Liberia”, Frontpageafrica)
Speaking about gay “rights” in Liberia, the President boasted that “No Law Restricts Rights of Individuals in Liberia to their own choices”…
Oh really?
How about Liberia’s Penal Law that criminalizes voluntary sodomy, Madame President?? (Note to butt boys: Please stay in the closet!)
Section 14.74–Voluntary sodomy– states that “A person who engages in deviate sexual intercourse under circumstance not stated in Section 14.72 [relating to aggravated involuntary sodomy] or 14.73 [relating to involuntary sodomy] have committed a first degree misdemeanor.”
So what part of the Voluntary sodomy law do our Nobel Peace Prize Winner (Madame Sirleaf) NOT understand?
Look folks, the President’s duty are to “uphold, protect, and defend the Constitution and the laws of the Republic of Liberia”.
If the President can’t do that, why is she President then? Oh wait, I forgot: she’s a politician.
Politicians fabricate, obfuscate, and exaggerate for whatever reason!
But as a child, I learned the story of Pinocchio and how his nose grew longer and longer every time he told a lie (fabricate, obfuscate, and exaggerate)!
The President deserves the Pinocchio award for lying about our sodomy law! Shame on you, Madame President!
