Monrovia- Players of Liberia Football Association (LFA) third division side Manden FC have backed their team president Memeh Y. Sheriff’s plan to take the Liberia Football Association to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for what they term as seeking justice in Football.

The players decision followed the LFA Grievance Committee took away three points from them in a match they won 8-0 against United Star FC in the LFA Logan Town sub-Committee league which prevented them from participating in the ongoing LFA third division playoff.
According to the LFA, the game between Maden United FC and United Star FC was rescheduled for replay after ANSSA FC who finished third in the Logan Town Sub-Committee league table filed in a complaint for match fixing in Maden United FC 8-0 win against United Star FC, and after the LFA Grievance Committee investigation, they found out that ANSSA FC complained about match fixing in the game played between Maden United FC and United Star FC was true.
The Grievance Committee later rescheduled the game between the two teams to be played on May 4, 2024 but Maden United FC refused to honor the game.
The players, in their calls to CAF expressed disappointment in the LFA Grievance Committee’s final verdict made against their team which denied them from participating in the LFA ongoing third division playoff.
It can be recalled that Maden United FC president Memeh Y. Sheriff vowed to take his team’s case to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) if LFA failed to provide the truth.
Amara Sheriff, a striker who finished the league’s highest goal for his team Maden United FC, narrated that what the LFA did to them is a complete setback to their football career because they did their best in the league to finished second in the league but they were denied from participating in the LFA third division playoff which he considered as a major setback to their football careers and that he want his team president to take their case to CAF for better investigation.
Striker Morris Jabateh described the LFA Grievance Committee verdict as a complete setback to their football careers and that it has made them not to trust the LFA Grievance Committee because it was through the Grievance Committee verdict they were denied from participating in the LFA third division playoff.
Central back Ishmael Kamara believed that only through the intervention of Africa’s highest football house CAF the truth would be established so he wants his team president Sheriff not to leave any stone unturned until the truth is established.
Ayouba Sheriff, a right back of Maden United FC, explained that the LFA Grievance Committee verdict was a deliberate verdict to kick them out of the LFA playoff at the advantage of ANSSA FC and so it is time for the team president Sheriff to engage CAF on the matter.
