IE score a goal in each half of the semifinal second leg clash against Global Pharma but both goals l could not stop the Yellow boys from going down to Pharmacists 3-2 in an entertaining match.
The match which was expected to me entertaining live up to expectations as both teams display classical football that kept the fans to their feet.
It was a dramatic start to the game when both teams kept a play each out of the pitch until the 42 minute when they put their player on something they said was African magic.
The home said Global Pharma who needed a 1-0 victory to progress to the final after they lost the first leg 2-1 could have taken the lead in the first ten minutes but their leading striker Amdiah Kawah wasted two golden chances to the disbelief of the pharmacists.
Benjamin Sarkoh came close to giving Global Pharma the lead but his effort travel wide over the bar after a decent ball over the top by Wellington Davies.
The visitors IE got the match opener with a magnificent header from IE hitman Joel Berry who headed in a corner kick to end the first half 1-0.
Back from the break Global Pharma mounted pressure on IE and got rewarded for their pressure with a classical finish from birthday man James Richardson to level things.
The yellow boys again went ahead after a defensive error from Prince David aa Bobby David score IE second goal.
Frustrated going down for the second time in the match the pharmacists still pull their hearts out as they got the equalizer from a Benjamin Sarkoh striker and five minutes later James Richardson got his brace to make it 3-2 to the pharmacists.
The yellow boys knowing very well that conceding another without a response could see them out of the competition and they defended excellent well to denied the pharmacists another goal and qualifications to the final at the game ended 3-2 to Global Pharma but they were knocked out of the competition on the away goal rule.
The aggregate score line ended 4-4 with IE going through to the final for the first time in 13 Years.
Since taking over IE Kelvin Sebwe has done an incredible job with Yellow boys taking them to back to back cup semifinal.
