Monrovia- After weeks of International Football in Liberia, local football return to Liberia with several spectacular matches in the Liberia Football Association first division League on Wednesday.

The league was put on hold by the LFA due to the runoff elections and the Liberia’s world cup qualifiers double header fixtures at home to Malawi and Equatorial Guinea but the league resume in the second and first divisions on Tuesday and Wednesday across the country.
As the league heats up there are teams who as still struggling to get their form while there are others who are performing excellently well since the start of the new league season and one team who is yet to taste defeat is Watanga FC.
The former Liberian champions on Wednesday November 22 extended their unbeaten run to nine games without defeat following an impressive 4-0 victory over LPRC Oilers at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex Practice pitch.
Workaholic winger Chuncy Freeman was rewarded for his hard work with a brace and youngest Emmanuel Sieh also scored a brace to sealed off Oilers who were outplayed throughout the match.
Freeman got the match only goal in the 2nd minute of the match and made it 2-0 for the soldiers boys of Watanga FC.
Oilers fought to reduce the score line but couldn’t create changes in Watanga’s box.
After coming close to scoring twice Sieh got his name on the score sheet with a cool finish with less than five minutes to the end of the first half.
Sieh just after the interval completed his brace to welcome his coach Copper Sannah to the club after weeks away from the club on national duty as deputy coach of Liberia who lost all two games at home against Equatorial Guinea and Malawi.
Wednesday win means Watanga is the only team in the league so far who has not taste defeat after nine matches.
Watanga who sits 3rd on the league table with 17 points has won four games and settled to five draw.
In other matches played League leaders and defending Champions LISCR FC narrowly beat Invincible Eleven (IE) 3-2.
Daniel Toe who made his international debut for Liberia on Monday November 20 against Equatorial Guinea scored a brace for the Shipping Boys of LISCR but IE came back stronger to score two goal and pushed LISCR to the last minute of the match.
Sheku Sheriff sealed the win for LISCR with spectacular set piece to secure all three points and maintained their lead at the top of the table with 22 points from 9 matches.
Second place Mighty Barrolle continued their showing with a win over FC Kallon Liberia.
Nush Zohn scored all four goals as Mighty Barrolle continue their impressive unbeaten home run.
The Rollers now for three weeks running remain at 2nd place with 20 points from 9 games.
Global Pharma on Tuesday fought hard to defeat NPA 1-0 with Amadiah Kawah getting the lone goal in the 88th minute.
The Pharmacists boys are now 8th on the table with 12 points.
Bea Mountain FC needed their star striker Ismeal Dumbuya hat trick to beat Cece United 3-2.
The Gold Boys are now 4th place with 17 points same points as Watanga with a superior goal advantage.
Nimba Kwado came from behind to secure all three points against Heaven Eleven F.C.
