MONROVIA – On Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at about 17:55 GMT the Roberts International Airport was a color scene when members, Students, Teachers, and well-wishers of the Salvation Army Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea Command converged to welcome to Liberia their World Leaders General Brain Peddle and Commissioner Rosalie Peddle.
Upon his arrival at the Roberts International Airport along with his delegate General Peddle, disclosed that he was over excited to see his members in Liberia and described his trip as one of the first trips after the Covid-19.
Speaking to reporters at the Roberts International Airport in the Presidential Lounge, the Salvation Army World Leader said he wants the government of Liberia to see the Salvation Army Liberia, Sierra Leone and Command as a partner in building a better future for Liberia as the Army continue to pray for the leadership of Liberia.
He added that with the involvement of the Salvation Army Liberia, Sierra Leone and Command in the educational and health sectors in Liberia the future of the country is bright and the Salvation Army International is willing to support the work in Liberia fully in partnership the government of Liberia.
Speaking further the Salvation Army World Leader noted that he is fascinated about Liberia, based on the history of the country having a great link with the United States of America, stressing that this visit is his first ever.
Meanwhile, General Peddle also frowned on the issue of human trafficking in the world, adding that the Salvation Army is seriously against the practice and they have put in place some training and education to support women and children who are at high risk.
He noted that the Salvation Army has many supports for people who have been victimized by human trafficking to rescue and even to some extend return them back to their various homes.
Commenting on his visit to Liberia, the General disclosed that as the World Leader of the Salvation Army it is his obligation to visit and encourage his remembers around the world with Liberia been of no exception.
“I brought the message that there is a calling upon the church to convert many lives to the kingdom of God which is the call to all missions” the General concluded.
Also speaking at the RIA, the Religious Advisor to President George Weah, Reverend Emmanuel M. Nimely welcomed the Salvation Army World leaders to Liberia on behalf of President Weah. He pledged the government willingness in working with the Salvation Army in Liberia.
The Salvation Army World Leader team includes Commissioner Rosalie Peddle, World President for Women’s Ministries, and Major David Williamson, Private Secretary to the General, they are in Liberia for a week and during their stay in the country, they will be meeting with other religious leaders and Officials of government of Liberia.
