
WASHINGTON, USA — Liberia’s Ambassador to the United States of America,His Excellency Jeff Gongoer Dowana Sr. Is leaving no ground unplowed and has directed all energies at motivating the highly skilled staff at the Liberian Embassy near Washington DC to work diligently around the clock to ensure that president Weah’s visit to the US is successful. Ably assisted by his Deputy Chief of Mission,veteran Journalist Isaac C. Yeah, the pair are having daily meetings with staff of the Embassy to properly coordinate with the US State Department in smoothening all rough edges to guarantee President Weah and delegation a fruitful visit to the US.
President Weah will first touchdown in the US throughthe Miami International Airport in Florida on December 3rd. His Excellency Dowana and Minister CounselorSophia T. Mawlue will be in Florida to welcome President Weah and delegation to America. While in Florida, Dr. Weah is expected to hold talks with some American business executives on the possibilities of exploring investment opportunities in Liberia.
Dr. Weah travels to Washington DC on Dec 12 to attend the second US-Africa Leaders’ Summit organized by US President Joe W. Biden. The President will address scolds of young people at the African and Diaspora Young Learders forum on Dec 13th at 7:30am at the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington DC. The African and Diaspora Young Leaders Forum aims to elevate diaspora engagement, strengthen the dialogue between U.S. officials and African diaspora in the United States, and provide a platform for young African and diaspora leaders to fashion innovative solutions to pressing challenges. African Diaspora in the Americas includes African Americans, descendants of formerly enslaved Africans, and nearly two million African immigrants who maintain close familial, social, and economic connections to the
continent.
He will speak on the theme; “Amplifying Voices: Building Partnerships that Last”. Later that evening at 8, Dr. Weah will interact with Liberians in the US and Canada through a townhall styled meeting dubbed the PALAVA HUT DEMOCRACY FORUM and organized by ConcernedLiberians in the US and Canada. The group is headed byMr. Manneh George of Philadelphia. The town hall meeting will take place in the Auditorium of the Schuyler Hotel on 1001 NW Washington DC.
