There has been a series of reports on radios, in newspapers and on social media handles that the Big County senator was fronting for one of his supporters to occupy the deputy minister for administration positions in key ministries.
These allegations are as a result of the ongoing hullabaloo at the Ministry of Health, involving Madam Martha Morris and former Nimba County Representative, Roger Domah for the Deputy Minister for administration position.
The Executive Mansion released a list of nominations where Mr. Domah was appointed Deputy Minister for administration while Madam Morris was appointed Deputy Minister for operations.
But a few days after the nomination, there have been reports that there was an error in the nomination as Madam Morris was initially appointed to the Deputy for Administration post while Domah was appointed to the Deputy for operations.
Some have been pointing accusing fingers at Sen. Moye as the man behind these controversies in order to have people loyal to him in key deputy ministerial positions in order to make him powerful.
But responding to the claims, the Media Consultant in the office of the Senator, Martin Lawor, described the accusations as unfounded and baseless, and are only intended to taint the character of the youthful Bong County Senator.
“For the record, Bill McGill Jones, Deputy Minister for Administration at the Minister of Finance is the only Deputy Minister from Bong who was nominated and confirmed. Those individuals in the UP who do not want to focus on meeting the needs of the Liberian people, but engage in acts that tend to tint the image of the government are only doing so for their own aggrandizement,” Lawor said.
“For the record, especially for those who do not know Senator Moye, Sr.,- he was a business tycoon in Bong before coming to public service. Currently, several of his properties (the CSA sub-office, C.B Dunbar Doctors’ residence, etc) are facilities being used by the government with renter fees paid to him. Besides, there has been no audit report that indirectly or directly indicted him. The senator is focused on issues that uplift the lives of his citizens.”
Mr. Lawor furthered that these allegations are coming from individuals who are personally against his boss for his closeness to the executive and the national admirations he has amassed as one of the towering figures at the Liberian Senate.
Lawor clarified that at no time had his boss, Sen. Moye, ever attempted to deprive any Liberian their right to serve in government in order to appease his followers for political glory.
He noted that Sen. Moye has got absolutely no knowledge regarding what is unfolding at the Ministry of Health between Domah and Morris as stated in many quarters.
Mr. Lawor urged members of public not to buy into any allegations of such nature only intended to attack a man who has worked over the years to build his character.
