The latest commendation comes from Liberia’s new Minister of Information, Culture Affairs, and Tourism, Jerolinmek Mathew Piah.
Minister Piah recounted Ambassador Endee’s work over the years, noting her significant contribution to making Liberia an attractive tourist destination and an enviable cultural hub in the sub-region.
Speaking on Tuesday when he officially took over the Ministry, the new MICAT Boss described Ambassador Endee as a true patriot of national growth and development.
He added that the Ministry looks forward to tapping into Ambassador Endee’s expertise to promote Liberia’s cultural heritage.
“Shouldn’t we tap into her expertise? Shouldn’t we use her expertise to help revive our National Culture Troop to the level it should be?” Minister Piah asked Ambassador Endee during the well-attended and elaborate program on Capitol Hill.
The National Culture Center in Kendeja was traded by the government for the RLJ Beach Resort under the administration of former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
Ambassador Endee and the Liberia Crusaders for Peace, an organization she founded in 1995, have since gained national recognition, advocating for culture and undertaking national initiatives on behalf of the country.
Now, the new Minister of Information is counting on the services of Madam Endee to revive interest in the country’s culture, making it the face of the nation.
The MICAT Boss also disclosed that the Ministry is working out modalities to establish the National Tourism Authority consistent with President Joseph Boakai’s vision of fully activating the tourism sector and utilizing its full potential.
Meanwhile, Culture Ambassador Juli Endee has assured Liberians of her commitment to showcasing the country’s culture both at home and globally.
Ambassador Endee emphasized that good cultural practices are pivotal to fostering peace and democracy, pledging her full commitment to every national endeavor in that direction.
“We hereby pledge our support and recommit ourselves to continue working with the government of Liberia through the Ministry of Information, Culture Affairs, and Tourism, in advancing our culture, peace, and national development,” the Liberian Culture Ambassador noted.
The Crusader for Peace Executive Director is also calling on Liberians to embrace their culture to enhance the country’s growth and development.
She also praised the immediate past administration of President George Weah for the cordial working relationship over the years.
The recognition by Minister Piah is another testament to Ambassador Endee’s immense contributions to the national cause spanning about three decades.
Her organization, the Liberia Crusaders for Peace, has won the support and admiration of governments and partners, using culture and performing arts to promote national causes such as polio eradication, awareness on Ebola, Covid, and census through effective community-based social mobilization.
