Monrovia –The Liberia Revenue Authority’s Taxpayer Advocate Service Unit (TASU) recently conducted a vital engagement with Vacumo Marketing Corporation and residents of Vai Community on Bushrod Island.
During this insightful one-day session, taxpayers received comprehensive education on their rights to seek recourse in cases where they feel unfairly treated by the tax authority.
TASU’s core mission is to inform, educate, and advocate for taxpayers, ensuring they understand their rights and responsibilities under the revenue code. Attendees, including marketers and community members, were reassured that TASU stands ready to advocate and support them in addressing any grievances they may have with the LRA.
Commissioner General James Dorbor Jallah, speaking at the engagement, expressed sincere appreciation to the members of Vacumo Marketing Corporation and the community for their proactive approach in understanding their roles as taxpayers.
He emphasized the LRA’s commitment to conducting more engagements like these to streamline payment processes, clarify procedures, and facilitate smoother tax payments for all.
Meanwhile, Somo Howard, the Manager of TASU, commended the marketers for their active participation and thoughtful inquiries. He emphasized the significance of such engagements in enhancing taxpayers’ understanding of their rights and responsibilities in revenue generation.
