MONROVIA — Health workers in across the country are calling on President Joseph Boakai to nominate Madam Martha Morris to the position of Deputy Minister for Administration at the Ministry of Health.

In an Executive Mansion release published less than a month ago, Madam Morris was nominated to the position of Assistant Minister for Administration at the Ministry of Health, while former Nimba County Representative, Roger Domah, was nominated as Deputy Minister for Administration.
But controversies beclouded the two appointments following reports from the presidency that the list of nominated officials was altered by some folks believed to be in the employ of the President.
It was reported that Madam Morris was actually appointed as Deputy Minister for Administration while former Representative Domah was nominated to the position of Assistant Minister.
The Executive Mansion has yet to synchronize the situation as citizens remain in doubt as to who goes to the position.
The situation is said to be delaying the confirmation of Madam Morris, who reports say was nominated to the post.
It has now claimed the attention of health workers across the country who see Martha Morris as one of them, and best suited for the position.
Madam Morris is the Chairperson of the National Health Workers Association of Bong chapter.
Health Workers across the country are now calling on President Boakai to settle the matter and ensure Madam Morris takes on the position.
Since her entry into the health sector, Madam Morris has and continues to enjoy the confidence of health practitioners across the country due to cordial working relationship.
According to Viakaadeyal Forkpa and Lorba B. Tulay, two leaders of the organization, they see Madam Morris as a person of competence, and one who stands in the gap for fellow professionals whenever she’s needed.
They believe the appointment and confirmation of Madam Morris as Deputy Minister for Administration at the Health Ministry will be in the best interest of health workers across the country.
They see Madam Morris as someone who understands the bread and issues affecting health practitioners and can do the needful to improve the system.
