
Monrovia – Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has made a number of changes in her administration, dismissing her Minister of Transport and the head of the Executive Protective Services.
An Execution Mansion release Friday said appointments also affected the Ministries of State for Presidential Affairs, Education, Information, Defense, Foreign Affairs and Internal Affairs.
Others affected are the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company and the National Security Agency.
Mr. Sylvester Grigsby replaces the late Edward B. McClain as Minister of State while Rev. Sando E. Townsend becomes Religious Advisor to the President.
At the Ministry of Transport, Mr. Sam Wlue, a former Minister of Commerce in the late Charles Gyude Bryant’s National Transitional Government of Liberia (NTGL) becomes Minister of Transport replace Angela Bush Cassell who has been penciled in for reassignment.
At the Ministry of Education, Mr. Gbovadeh G. Gbilia becomes Deputy Minister for Planning, Research, and Development; Mr. Saa David Nyuma, Jr. becomes Assistant Minister for Planning, Research, and Development; Ms. Florence Allen-Jones, Assistant Minister for Early Childhood Education while Ms. Lalata Neufville Wei becomes Assistant Minister for Fiscal Affairs & Human Resource Development.
Mr. Bobby Livingston becomes Deputy Minister of Public Affairs at the Ministry of Information, Culture &Tourism replacing Mr. Isaac Jackson who was recently appointed to the International Maritime Organization.
Mr. Morris Dukuly, a former Minister of State and chair of the National Port Authority is now chair of the board of Directors at the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company.
Mr. Sam Gaye replaces Mr. Frank Nyekan as Director of the National Security Agency. Nyekan was named as a consultant at the National Security Agency.
At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Willye Mai Tolbert King was named Ambassador to La Cote d’Ivoire.
At the Ministry of National Defense, Col Prince C. Johnson, III was named Deputy Chief of Staff to be promoted to Brigadier General while Lt. Col Davidson Forley named Commandant, Armed Force Training Command, to be promoted to Colonel.
At the Ministry of Internal Affairs, several were named to local positions.
In Grand Bassa County, Mr. Moses Janjay Tinko Bull was named Assistant Superintendent for Development. In Sinoe County, Mr. John Karlor was named Commissioner, Juarzon County District while Mr. Frederick N. Koffa was named District Inspector, Juarzon Statutory District.
Others include Mr. A. Menjay Wleh, who was named City Mayor, Mexico City, Juarzon Stat. District; Mr. Isaac B. Quetoh, Township Commissioner, Tobo Township; Mr. Joe D. Weego Harmon, Township Commissioner, Chelor Township and Mr. Harry Dorbor, Township Commissioner, Needweh Township.
In Maryland County, Mr. Gyude Brown has been named City Mayor, Harper City.
The President has also set up a National Steering Committee on Climate Change that includes: The Environmental Protection Agency, The Forestry Development Authority,The Ministry of Lands, Mines and Energy, The Ministry of Transport, The Ministry of Gender & Development and Dr. Togba-Nah Tipoteh
