The forms are essential in assessing, analyzing, and improving maternal and neonatal healthcare practices, thus enhancing healthcare monitoring and outcomes. Documenting these health outcomes to establish the circumstances surrounding maternal deaths enables healthcare providers to identify underlying causes and contributing factors for possible interventions.
Particularly the Neonatal Death Review Form enables healthcare providers to analyze neonatal deaths and identify areas for improvement in care delivery, ultimately striving towards reducing neonatal mortality rates. And, incorporating it into the Montserrado County healthcare protocols shows a significant step towards enhancing neonatal healthcare outcomes within the community.
During the presentation at the Montserrado County Health Team’s office in Duport, Payensville, NEPI through its Chief Operating Officer, Earl Mulbah reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to working with health facilities across Liberia to ensure healthy environments. He said the donation of the review form is also a way to enhance its partnership with the Montserrado County Health Team and the health sector at large.
Receiving the items on behalf of Dr. Dr. Yatta Whapoe, County Health Officer of Montserrado, Adolphus Kenta, Director, of the Health Department lauded NEPI for the gesture and assured that it will be used for its intended purpose. According to Kenta, the form will augment the county health team’s efforts for proper record keeping and onward decisions that will tackle health conditions including maternal and neonatal deaths.
