Bong County – Residents of Botola Town are incensed due to what they are describing as the Ministry of Internal Affairs, through its project director; Massa Fofana Johnson lying to them on the Millennium Development Villages Project.
The town inhabitants told FrontPageAfrica in Kokoyah that the Ministry promised to turn over equipment and other valuable items that were used during the construction of the Kokoyah Millennium Villages project, but the Project Director allegedly failed to fulfill the promises that were made.
“The Ministry told us that they were going to give us the materials, but to our greatest surprise, after the construction, Massa Johnson from the Internal Affairs brought car took away all of the materials including the air conditioner units that were in the hall we gave the Ministry to use.
She took away even seven motor bikes, one big generator, nine (9) solar panel street lights and other materials. When we asked her for the materials, she insulted our elders and told us that we out of our mind,” Madam Catharine Sumo Jackson, a resident of Kokoyah explained.
The youths and other residents also accused the Project Director of looting from the project. The residents disclosed that before the start of the project promises made were never fulfilled.
According to residents of the town, there was an MOU between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the town residents for the contractors to leave behind all of the equipment that were used during the project.
The residents disclosed to FPA that some of the materials included generator, air conditioners, seven motor bikes, and solar panel lights amongst others.
“We are disappointed in that woman at the Internal Affairs Ministry for the lie they lie to us. That Massa woman does not have respect for anybody—she insulted us here during the time of the project. If you noticed on the dedication of the project by Madam President, there was no Kokoyah official on the program. It was because our people are angry with the way Massa acted here,” Kekula Johnson, a youth leader told the FPA.
Madam Johnson, the lady in the middle of the allegation told the FPA over the weekend that she was not prepared to talk about the matter when she was contacted via mobile.
Madam Johnson noted that she was on the street but promised to address the matter today; Monday may 02, 2016 at her office.
