Monrovia – The Liberia Revenue Authority has awarded the Abi Jaoudi & Azar Trade Corporation operators of the Abi Jaoudi Supermarket a certificate of appreciation after the supermarket chain recorded the “First Highest Value Importer General Merchandise for 2016/2017.
The revenue generator agency has over the past few years observed a Taxpayer Appreciation program aimed at recognizing taxpayers for their level of tax compliance and contributions to national development by paying their taxes regularly and on time.
The program further seeks to recognize and appreciate taxpayers based on two underlining considerations: tax contribution and tax compliance.
This year, the Abi Jaoudi supermarket chain clinched the coveted Domestic Tax Category earning it as the Highest Contributors Award and Most Compliant Taxpayers awards.
The Supermarket chain has been on a high of late with the recent opening of a new branch in Sinkor, the second-ever branch of the supermarket in Liberia since the company opened its headquarters on Randall Street in 1966.
Mr. Jason B. Weni, Administrative Manager of Abi Jaoudi Group of Companies, told FrontPageAfrica at the weekend that the recognition from the LRA shows the company’s commitment to continue to remain engage in Liberia and help in rebuilding the national economy.
The company has in recent time expressed a desire to extend its investment into other parts of Liberia, beyond Montserrado County.
The company has meanwhile expressed thanks and appreciation to its many customers for continuing to stand by them through some difficult spell and pledge to do more to contribute to the economic outlook of the country.
