New Castle, Delaware – The Association of Liberian Journalists in the Americas has described the recent attack on Montserrado County Representative-hopeful, Telia Urey, and her supporters in District Number-15 by alleged thugs and partisans of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) as one of the saddest and darkest moments in the history of Liberia’s fledgling democracy.

MONROVIA – The Association of Female Lawyers of Liberia (AFELL) says it is deeply concerned about the deepening enmity amongst citizens which is giving rise to deteriorating unstable ease in the country. The latest of which was the eruption of violence in Logan Town, Montserrado County between rivals of the just ended District #15 elections over the weekend. 

USA – One of Liberia’s major opposition political institutions, The National Democratic Coalition (NDC), has elected Samuel P. Ajavon, Jr., as Chairman on a white ballot for its USA Chapter, until the USA Diaspora based group goes to a convention at which time the NDC will formally elect its corps of officials. Others chosen to serve in acting capacities include Dr. Emmanuel Daykeay – Vice Chairman; Dr. C. Dougbeh Nyan – Vice Chairman International Affairs; James Marshall – Vice Chairman for Mobilization; Rev. Twaleh Geply – Women’s League Coordinator; and Annie Musu Boyle – Financial Secretary/Treasurer. 

Monrovia – The Central Bank of Ghana on 16th August 2019 announced the revocation of the licenses of twenty-three (23) Savings and Loans Companies and Finance House Companies. Included in that list is GN Savings and Loans Company.

MONROVIA – The Director-General of the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority is commending the government and Peoples’ of the Republic of China for remaining committed to its pledge of bridging capacity gaps by ensuring the manpower development of Liberians under the Coalition for Democratic Change government led by President George Manneh Weah.
