Black Man Warriors appeared firmly on course to claim the campaign’s first piece of silverware after dominating the opening 45 minutes and taking a commanding 2-0 lead into the break.
However, the reigning champions emerged from the interval with renewed vigor, turning the contest completely on its head within minutes of the restart.
Watanga struck twice early in the second half to level the terms at 2-2 by the 50th minute, shattering the Warriors’ momentum before completing the dramatic turnaround later in the half.
Kindness Cole emerged as the hero of the evening, netting a brilliant brace to spearhead Watanga’s revival. Alexander Curtis also etched his name on the scoresheet as the LFA Champions sealed the victory and lifted the Super Cup trophy.
Agony for Warriors, Early Momentum for Watanga
For Black Man Warriors, the defeat represents a bitter pill to swallow. Having seized full control in the first half, defensive lapses and a failure to withstand Watanga’s high-pressing response after the break saw a clear path to victory slip away.
Conversely, Watanga will draw immense confidence from the grit and tactical composure displayed under pressure. Mounting a successful three-goal comeback in a high-stakes final delivers both an early trophy and an emphatic statement of intent ahead of the new league campaign.
While the Warriors must quickly regroup and shore up their defensive vulnerabilities, Watanga enters the 2026/27 season riding a wave of momentum as the team to beat.
