Release -The leadership of the Promoters of Liberian Athletes (PROLA) has commended the Sports Writers Associations of Liberia (SWAL) for conducting a Free, fair and transparent elections, thus giving birth to a new leadership to run the affairs of the sports writing body for the next three years.
A release quoting the president of PROLA Joseph H. Farkollie , says SWAL exemplified a true sportsmanship and professionalism that every professional organization should follow suit.
The former Invincible Eleven (IE) Vice President for Operations (VPO) is of the strongest conviction that the new leadership will serve with diligent to the expectation of their members.
Since its establishment of PROLA in 2001, it has been involved with assisting athletes from all sporting disciplines to make their dream come through.
PROLA was instrumental in helping former Lone Star players Zayzay Roberts and Josiah B. Seton in getting international connections that enabled them played professional football.
However, Farkollie urged those SWAL officials who have been entrusted by their colleagues to do the right thing as to allow the association remains the number one auxiliary of the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) and one of the most respected media organizations in Liberia.
Members of the Sports Writers Association of Liberia on Saturday December 9, 2023 elected new corps of officers at Wulki Farm, Careysburg.
Those elected are Varmah Kamara president, Christopher C. Walker Vice president, Edwin Dolo Secretary General, Jerome Willie Assistant Secretary, Naomi Tappia Financial Secretary, and Yusulf Sherif as Chaplain.
However, PROLA boss promised to work along with the Varmah Kamara’s leadership in the interest of sports promotion in the country.
