Terry Sackor’s hat-trick ended the nightmare of yester years and put smile of the faces of the LPRC Oilers faithful who have endured a long wait for the first league title in 14 years and condemned Keitrace into the second division of Liberia football.
The win extended LPRC Oilers unbeaten run to 20 league matches with two matches to go before the end of the campaign.
It appeared to be a nervous 44 minutes for the newly crowned champions, who saw a lacked of goal-scoring opportunities squandered in the early exchanges of the match. But Sackor turned the obstacle into a collective smile as his beautiful finish put LPRC Oilers ahead at the stroke of halftime from Ebenezer Solo’s delicious pass.
After the interval, Keitrace were lacking in urgency and seemingly frustrated as a side, who already knew their fate of playing the second division league.
