Monrovia-As the mid-season transfer window in Europe and other parts of the world come to an end on January 31,2024 there are players who have attracted interest from clubs and there are some Liberian players that have made moves in the past days.
FC Botoșani has officially announced the mutual termination of Liberian midfielder David Tweh’s contract.
After a half-season stint with the Romanian club, during which he made three appearances, both parties reached an agreement to conclude their professional relationship.
Inform Liberian striker Abu Kamara has moved to UAE after two successful seasons in Malaysia. The Liberian international striker joins UAE second tier club, Dibba Al-Hisn Sports Club.
The club is currently second on the table with 34 points from 16 games.
Abu won the 2022 Malaysian premier league golden boot with 11 goals in 17 games before scoring 13 goals in 22 Malaysian Super League games in 2023.
Also Emmanuel EJ Johnson, a 20-year-old player of Liberian descent, has departed Hibernian FC by mutual consent, having not made any senior appearances for the club.
Despite joining the Scottish Premiership team on a three-and-a-half-year deal in January 2022, Johnson engaged in three loan spells with Charleston Battery, Edinburgh City, and recently Austin FC II.
Meanwhile Minnesota United officially announced the signing of Liberia born midfielder Moses Nyeman on a one-year deal, including club options for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. The move comes after Nyeman was waived by Real Salt Lake at the end of the 2023 season.
In August 2022, the 20-year-old inked a two-year deal with Belgian Challenger Pro League side S.K. from DC United but after struggling at the club, he returned to MLS, where he was loaned to Real Salt Lake for the 2023 season with a purchase option. Nyeman made two appearances for Salt Lake and spent the majority of his time contributing to the club’s MLS NEXT Pro side, Real Monarchs, where he recorded a goal and an assist in 16 appearances.
The former United States youth international is still eligible to switch his senior national team allegiance to represent Liberia.
