Monrovia – Invincible Eleven midfielder Fred Brooks scored a decisive first-half goal in the 23rd minute, securing all three points for I.E. against their traditional counterparts, Mighty Barrolle, in the Liberia Football Association First Division League.
This victory marked the second win for the Sunshine Yellow Boys in the ongoing 2023/24 season. Currently, I.E. holds the 11th position on the league table with 10 points, while Mighty Barrolle dropped to third place with 26 points.
The defeat to Mighty Barrolle brought an end to the winning streak of the Rollers in the LFA Orange 1st Division last Sunday. Despite being in fine form for the past two months and winning six straight matches, Mighty Barrolle now sits at 3rd place, three points behind LSICR FC, who secured a 2-1 victory against Paynesville FC at the SKD Practice Ground.
Despite the win, the Yellow Boys remain entangled in the relegation battle with 10 points after 12 matches. Relegation-threatened Cece United thwarted Heaven Eleven’s ascent to the top of the table, forcing a 1-1 draw over the weekend.
FC Kallon-Liberia finally broke their winless streak of almost two months, securing a 3-0 victory against the struggling NPA Anchors. LPRC Oilers also returned to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 win over Nimba Kwado.
The LFA league will continue with more action this week
