Monrovia – The Roman Catholic Church has appointed His Grace, Monsignor Doctor Gabriel Blamo Jubwe as the new Archbishop of Monrovia, following the passing of Archbishop Lewis Jerome Zeigler about three years ago.

Archbishop Jubwe, prior to his appointment from Rome, served as the Diocesan Administrator of the Archdiocese of Monrovia for three years.
A communication from the Apostolic Nuncio, Walter Erbi, dated February 28, congratulated Archbishop Jubwe for his appointment to do God’s work.
The Apostolic Nuncio, in the communication, also expressed great joy over Jubwe’s appointment by the Holy Father Pope Francis.
The communication noted: “It is with great joy that we write to inform you officially that the Holy Father, Pope Francis, has appointed you as the new Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Monrovia.”
The communication noted that Archbishop Jubwe will officially take over the Archdiocese of Monrovia on February 28.
Before serving in his immediate past post as Diocesan Administrator of the Archdiocese of Monrovia, Archbishop Jubwe served as a pastor of St. Pius X and Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Community, Hydro Road, Cotton Tree, Harbel, before his appointment.
