The team, which is under the banner, UP Special Project Poll Watching, said their contribution is an initial payment to support the party’s campaign as members of the team stride to change the CDC-led government.
The delegation, comprised of Liberians from the diaspora, includes its Chairman Michael Geegbae Mueller, Madam Kumbah Cole, UP US-Canada Women Congress Chairlady, Madam Katumu Petitquoi, Head Coordinator, Women Congress, James Rogers, Regional Vice Chair, East Coast USA, Thomas Ansumana, Chair Mobilization, East Coast, Mohammed M. Kamara member and Sheikh Sheriff member.
During the presentation, Mueller expressed his team’s commitment to generate funds with the sole purpose of assisting the Rescue Mission.
He observed that the support coming from young and older people is evidence that Liberians need change. But he, however, cautioned partisans not to be swayed by the crowd as the party’s Presidential candidate, Amb. Joseph N. Boakai is expected to visit Grand Bassa.
Said Mueller, “I know you people are going to come outside on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It is not what counts, to be honest. What counts is what happens on the 10 of October.”
He emphasized, “ You can get the entire county of Bassa here on Sunday, locked everything down, if we do not go out to vote, and don’t protect those votes on October 10 then this whole weekend is meaningless.”
He also used the occasion to call on partisans, and supporters of the Rescue Mission to sacrifice by avoiding the issue of money to achieve the change they desire for the country.
“This country is led by criminals, so if we don’t spread this message to our people to come out and sacrifice there will be no Liberia going forward. The key day is the 10 of October we all should sacrifice to protect those votes,” he voiced.
In response, the Rescue Mission Campaign Chairlady, Senator Kangar-Lawrence expressed her gratitude to the Special Project Poll Watching team for their immense willingness to contribute to the party.
Madam Julia Bundo, a Representative Candidate in Electoral District #3, Grand Bassa County, vowed to ensure the Rescue gets the needed victory in the 2023 Presidential election.
She commits to protecting the votes of every partisan who will vote for the Rescue Mission as it was the same for Senator Kangar-Lawrence.
G. Isaac Gaye, vice chairman for Mobilization UP Rescue Team, Grand Bassa, reassured that the team will put in the necessary mechanisms together to protect their votes.
He emphasized, “We will be resistible, we will be very robust, we have fought the ruling establishment in protecting our votes on two occasions in this county.”
Adding, “So we can assure you that will our collective efforts in the country, we will make sure come October 10 the results from Bassa will be shown that indeed our votes were protected.”
