Monrovia – The political leader of the Alternative National Congress Alexander Cummings says Liberia can be easily transformed when everyone places emphasis on education.
Mr. Cummings said education is the key for transformation and urged every patriotic citizen to invest in the learning process of the country.
The ANC political leader made the statement Wednesday on the campus of the St. Clement University College in Paynesville during programs marking the official dedication of the University Computer Laboratory and a fund raising rally.
Mr. Cummings said he believes that there are four components of education which Liberians need to focus on in order to transform the country. These components he said include childhood learning, adult education, vocational trainings, and other skills that will impact the lives of the Liberian people.
He said if Liberians are empowered both academically and vocationally the country will change, while at the same time the minds of the people will also be transformed positively.
Mr. Cummings also stressed the need for teachers training that will enable them to adequately impact the minds of young Liberians.
Meanwhile, Bong County Senator Jewel Howard Taylor has praised authorities of St. Clement University for the level of academic courses being offered at the University.
According to Senator Taylor the University is currently providing Petroleum Engineering, Banking and Finance, Procurement, among others.
She said because of the big vision of the St. Clement University College, she has been attracted to be part of the program.
Senator Taylor especially praised the ANC political leader for helping St. Clement construct a fully equipped state-of-the-art computer laboratory. She further urged the students of the University to make good use of the facilities.
According to St. Clement authorities, the computer lab was constructed with funding from the Cummings Africa Foundation (CAF) and Coca Cola.
