Monrovia – As part of efforts to enhance information about the cost of services provided at the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) the National Integrity Forum (NIF) has unveiled a fee billboard at the entrance of the head office of the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) in Monrovia.
The billboard that is placed at the entrance of the LIS Head Office in Mamba Point will display fees charged for services at LIS.
The initiative is part of the ongoing activities of the NIF that seek to ensure that citizens have access to information about the cost of public services.
Speaking at the dedication program the Head of the Secretariat of the Liberia Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (LEITI) and acting Head of the Steering Committee of the NIF Jeffery Yates said the billboard is among several others billboards that will be erected at many entrance points across the country.
“This billboard is one of several others we will be erecting beginning here and on to the Bo Waterside and Ganta border posts to help enhance your work,” LEITI Head of Secretariat and acting Head of the Steering Committee of the NIF Mr. Yates said.
Also speaking, the Commissioner General of the LIS Robert W. Budy said the billboards will help buttress ongoing efforts to digitize services at the LIS to tackle corruption.
The NIF comprises the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC), the Financial Intelligence Agency (FIA), the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC), the Governance Commission (GC), Liberia Extractives Industries Transparency Initiative (LEITI), the General Auditing Commission (GAC), National Elections Commission (NEC), Ministry of Justice (MOJ), Law Reform Commission (LRC), Accountability Lab Liberia and the Center for Transparency and Accountability in Liberia (CENTAL).
Support for the forum is being provided by the government and people of Sweden through the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), as part of CENTAL’s National Integrity Building and Anti-Corruption Program (NIBA).
