In a heartfelt analysis, Mr. Peters emphasized what he termed, “the deep-rooted disunity” within the CDC, a grassroots political party.
Peters named longstanding issues such as extreme poverty, a lack of rule of law, and a history of violence as factors that have fractured the CDC.
He highlighted the divisive categorizations within the party which Jas distinguished CDCians and those categorized as “Weahcians,” deemed loyal to the president, which according to him, should not be so.
Peter further noted that ghe influence of CDC Secretary-General Jefferson Koijee’s and his likes in the party portrayed a source of internal controversy.
He was also critical of President George Weah’s silence on pressing matters during his leadership, asserting that this contributed to the prevailing disunity.
In offering advice to President Weah, Peters urged that humility and a thorough reflection on the past six years should be considered keenly.
He suggested scrutinizing the motivations of those surrounding the president, cautioning against those seeking personal enrichment under the guise of loyalty.
In a hopeful tone, Peters expresses gratitude for the smooth transition of power, emphasizing its significance in preserving Liberia’s young democracy.
As Liberia navigates its political future, the US-based Liberian underscored the importance of addressing internal divisions within the CDC to foster a more united and resilient political environment.
