Monrovia – A prominent resident of Sheffield community in Margibi County, Anthony Cassell Kouh, has generously donated 300 bags of rice, 300 gallons of oil, and bedsheets to the residents of his community and the less privileged.
This philanthropic gesture marks the second act of kindness by Mr. Kouh since his return to Liberia from prison in the United States of America. Known as “Tim Borrol,” he was sentenced in 2017 to 87 months (seven years) in prison for his involvement in an investment fraud scheme related to gold and diamonds, defrauding victims of more than US$9.5 million. Released in 2023, Kouh has demonstrated a commitment to positive change and giving back to those in need.
Reflecting on his motivation, Kouh expressed gratitude to his community for their prayers and support during his challenging times. During the presentation of the rice and other items to beneficiaries, mainly on Kouh’s Avenue, he stated, “I believe that while I was in prison, everyone who knew me in this community offered some level of prayers. I want to use this time to appreciate all of you for your prayers and concern. Even if you saw my family out there and said, ‘God help these people,’ that means a lot to me. So I am here to return the good.”
Kouh continued, “Today, each one of you will walk away with a bag of rice, a bottle of oil, and a bedsheet as your Christmas gift. I have a great desire to help change the lives of my people, and this is just the beginning.”
This Saturday donation follows a similar humanitarian initiative in the New Georgia Community, making it the second consecutive day of generous acts by Mr. Kouh. Cynthia Varney, speaking on behalf of the residents of Kouh’s Avenue, expressed gratitude for Kouh’s generosity.
“We appreciate your efforts, Mr. Kouh. Thank you for everything and for being a good neighbor and a commendable community dweller. We appreciate you and thank God for bringing you back,” Cynthia said. She also praised Kouh for putting food on their tables during the Christmas season.
