MONROVIA – Stephen Jajah, the bone of contention between Vivian and Naomi, has asserted that his children’s mother, Vivian Dent, has no legal rights over him to dictate whether he can have another relationship. This statement comes after the disturbing video of Vivian Dent beating and brutalizing Naomi at Jahah’s ArcelorMittal residence surfaced, prompting Jajah to speak on the incident for the first time.

During an online show called Tes T Tes, Jajah clarified that Naomi is his current girlfriend, while he and Vivian are in an on-and-off relationship due to her problematic behavior, which he can no longer tolerate. He emphasized that Vivian is only a girlfriend, and they are not in a committed relationship. They never signed any contract stating that he cannot have other relationships. Jajah stressed that he and Vivian are not married, and he did not perform any traditional marriage customs, such as paying kola on Vivian’s head. The only connection between them is their two children.
“Vivian is only a girlfriend, and we are not in a committed relationship. We did not sign any contract that said I do not have the right to have a relationship. Vivian has no legal rights over me; Vivian and I are not married. Neither did I pay any cola (bride price) on Vivian’s head traditionally, but the only thing between us, are the two kids we have together,” Jajah said
When asked about his marital status, Jajah revealed that he is married but separated from his wife due to a disagreement, which resulted in a six-year separation.
He recounted that he and Vivian were together for six years but had to part ways because of her behavior. He sent her to Gbarnga to live and attend school, even renting a place for her. However, the landlord of the first house he rented for her asked him to take Vivian away after six months, citing her troublesome behavior. Jajah then rented another house for her, from which she later left for Yekepa, causing trouble despite his continuous support for her, including paying her school fees and providing financial assistance.
Regarding the incident when Vivian beat Naomi, Jajah explained that he received a report of Vivian causing disturbance at the camp, so he rushed there. Upon hearing Naomi’s cries, he immediately took her to the hospital on a bike. After that, he went to Gbarnga Bong County to collect his two children, as Vivian had left them without care. He brought them to Yekepa, while Vivian was already on her way to Gbarnga.
It’s worth noting that Vivian Dent, who openly beat Naomi and posted the video on Facebook, has been arrested by the Liberia National Police. She is facing charges of aggravated assault and attempted murder and will be presented before the court.
