According to LNP Spokesman H. Moses Carter, the motorbike riders claimed Simmons was one Princess who allegedly conspired with some robbers to steal their motorbikes.
Carter indicated that on November 13, 2023, the day before the run-off elections, Simmons was misidentified by the motorbike riders and was beaten and stripped naked in the Redlight area.
He stated that this act is in violation of Chapter 14, Section 14.20, Chapter 10, Section 10.1, and Chapter 16, Section 15.10 of the revised penal code of the Republic of Liberia.
Carter further mentioned that those arrested at the Redlight include Emmanuel Cooper, Oldman Gayler, Archie Zerpele, and others yet to be identified. He explained that those arrested are presently under police investigation.
The update also included the death of a man whose name has not been disclosed by the Police investigation team, with citizens vandalizing the traditional council office, looting, and setting ablaze the home of Senator Emmanuel Zoe Pen. He said that the situation in Grand Gedeh is now under control, thanks to the assistance of the Liberia Armed Forces (AFL) and LNP.
He disclosed that seven (7) persons – Peter Folomo (26 years), Solomon Broh (23 years), Steve Shar (35 years), Christian Manyecah (26 years), Leo Watts (28 years), Promise Johnson (27 years), and others – have been arrested and are facing investigation, while others to be identified will also be arrested.
He is also calling on Unity Party (UP) officials to help locate Peaches Queen Johnson, who they identified in a video footage during the death of Joshua, to turn themselves over to answer for the death of a Liberian citizen who was killed on August 11, 2023, during the just-ended campaign.
