Recently, Senator Johnson accused President Weah of Killing auditors of the Liberia Revenue Authority and the head of the Internal Audit Agency, Emmanuel B. Nyeswa in 2020.
Also, Senator Johnson’s Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction (MDR) Party further accused the Weah-led government of plotting to assassinate him (Johnson).
Mr. Paye speaking to journalists over the weekend in Monrovia said Nimba county is a peaceful county and as such will not support Senator Johnson’s action.
Mr. Paye says: “Nimba County is a county that loves peace. Nimba County wants to maintain peace. We are sober-minded people. I have come to the Liberian people to let them know that Nimba County is embarrassed and confounded by the recent allegation alleged by our Senator of Nimba County Prince Johnson.”
The Senior Advisor to the Elder Council of Nimba County added: “We the people of Nimba County are not in favor and are not part of the statement made against the President of Liberia.”
The Senior Advisor to the Elder Council Nimba County says the statement from the Nimba County Senator reflects on the image of the entire county.
“We are fed up with our Senator’s behavior. He does not respect us anymore. If he had something against the President, I’m the senior advisor to the elder council of the county. We have elders in the county, anything he supposed to get to us to seek advice,” he added.
“He (Senator Johnson) wants to bring trouble to our county. He wants to use these divisive politics in our county. We don’t want it,” he said.
