MONROVIA – The Monrovia Branch of the National Association of University Women (NAUW) Celebrates its Founders’ Day by identifying with several public schools.
Beginning the 10th through the 13th of March 2022, the Monrovia Branch of the NAUW celebrated its Founders’ Day via numerous activities.
On Thursday, March 10, 2022, NAUW kicked off the Founders’ Day Activities by donating thirty (30) bags of rice to the ECD centers at the following schools: Monrovia Demonstration Elementary School, Rebecca J.N. Wilson Elementary School, N.V. Massaquoi Elementary School, C.D.B King Elementary School, and A. Glenn Tubman Elementary School. These schools were selected for the donation based because most of kids attending those institutions are from underprivileged families and education is an important component of NAUW’s mission.
In continuation, on Friday, March 11, 2022, NAUW inducted new member and hosted a private dinner for its members. Saturday March 12, 2022, a fitness session where a personal trainer led the workout and a nurse checked all participants’ blood pressure and had a health talk on the awareness of hypertension. The activities climaxed on the 13th of March, 2022 with a service at the Sinkor Assemblies of God Church.
The National Association of University Women (NAUW), created in March 1919, is a group dedicated to encourage and support women to attain professional excellence, to exert influence in various movements for the civic good, and to promote a close personal and intellectual fellowship among professional women.
The Monrovia Branch of NAUW was chartered in July 2018 and since then, the branch has devoted its time and efforts to supporting Liberian women through donations to schools, orphanages, health awareness, and providing scholarship opportunities.
NAUW is open to all Liberian women with a university degree who believe in charity and education. New members are welcome.
