Kakata, Margibi – As President Joseph Boakai continues with the naming of members of his cabinet, J. Benedict S. Paye, Jr, a member of the 4th Mano River Union Youth Parliament Representing Margibi County, has called on President Boakai and Vice-President Koung to please consider any qualified son or daughter of Margibi County as one of their cabinet members within the government.
By Francis G. Boayue
Benedict Paye in an open communication to the President of Liberia on Wednesday, said the youths and citizens of Margibi County are deeply concerned about the recent “APPOINTMENTS” which lie in the purview of the President in keeping with the constitution of Liberia and urges the President Boakai to take one of their sons or daughters as a way of paying back to the county for overwhelmingly supporting the Unity Party in the just ended elections.
“Mr. President, while it is your constitutional right to appoint individuals of your choice, we want you to please consider any qualified son or daughter of Margibi County as one of our cabinet members within your government.
“Mr. President, you will agree with me more that Margibi County played a very significant ROLE in your elections as PRESIDENT of the Republic of Liberia. Therefore, we are appealing that you kindly appoint one of our sons or daughters within your administration as MINISTER.
“We have five (5) more ministerial positions left; we need one of those ministerial positions because of the unquestionable role Margibi County played in bringing you to the PRESIDENCY. Mr. President, please protect Margibi’s interest and don’t let Margibi County fall by the wayside.
“We want to believe that nine (9) counties are ALREADY satisfied, Mr. President. But for Margibi County, we are not in any way satisfied. Seeing Margibi County not being captured in your political appointment is a huge blow. Interestingly Mr. President, some of us don’t want to see others laughing at us as a County. We are anticipating getting one or two ministerial positions with several Deputy and Assistant Minister positions within your government during your next six (6) of service to this great nation, Mr. President,” Benedict Paye added.
