MONROVIA – A man believed to be in his early 40s has allegedly killed his fiancée in the Bong Mines Bridge Community on the Bushrod Island, outside Monrovia.

The incident reportedly occurred during the early morning hours of Monday, November 20.
The perpetrator has been identified as one Chila Brown. He is reported to be on the run after allegedly committing the act.
Reasons for the killing of the victim Alice Zoe Kemokai have not been established. The victim was believed to be a trader of the famous seasoned pork business.
Her remains were discovered by other occupants of the house where she was residing during the morning hours of Tuesday, November 21.
News incident which spread like a wild fire on the Bushrod Island drew the attention of scores of onlookers and passers-by.
Speaking in an interview with FrontPageAfrica, the landlord of the victim Weedor Brown disclosed that the victim was seen lying helplessly in her room after her children noticed that the door was closed and she was nowhere to be seen.
She pointed out that since the victim moved into her house, she and her boyfriend Chila has never been into any misunderstanding or fistfight.
“When Alice is sleeping, she can wake up late and it can take time before she comes outside. We don’t know whether her man came and kill her in the room. We thought she was still sleeping because she can’t wake up soon; she sells around and so, she can be tired. But when we went inside the room, the man had already killed her and left.”
“We don’t know whether he choked her or not because we were not there. And the girl was not even crying for us to go there and they were not making confusion before.”
Mother Brown expressed regret over the failure of the victim to properly introduce her boyfriend to her despite spending more than six months in her house.
“She didn’t show or tell me that the man was her boyfriend. I asked her before that the man you were staying with in Caldwell is the same man I can see coming here? She said no. I have been seeing her new boyfriend coming here for almost five months now.”
According to her, the victim has only complained about maltreatment in her previous relationship, and not with her new lover Chila.
She noted that prior to her demise, victim Alice was a calm and friendly person in the community.
“Since Alice moved here, she has not made any confusion with people. I used to call her my daughter.”
Also speaking, Cita Brown, the landlord’s daughter, claimed that she saw the alleged perpetrator early Monday morning with a black plastic bag full with things, including his shoes.
According to her, Chila came from the victim’s room and passed through the hallway without speaking to her at the time she was getting prepare for work.
Officers from the homicide division of the Liberia National Police (LNP) stormed the area to protect the crime scene.
They reportedly took away the victim’s phone for further interrogation.
