According to reports, student Can Wilson was apprehended during the afternoon hours of Monday, March 4, in the New Buchanan Block D community.
Wilson’s arrest came as a shock to him after bystanders accused him and his colleagues of consuming illegal substances during school hours.
The arrest was triggered after the Grand Bassa detachment of the Liberian Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) received a tip-off and swiftly arrived at the scene.
Commander Bulster Jolon, of the LDEA Bassa detachment, confirmed the arrest of student Can Wilson of the SDA School in Buchanan.
He mentioned that the student was previously arrested for a similar act but was released in hopes of him changing his behavior, something Commander Bulster said Wilson has yet to do.
A community dweller, who asked not to be named, said, “I rushed to them immediately when I saw and identified what exactly they were doing. I was shocked and embarrassed by the KUSH smell, and I quickly reported them to the DEA”.
Our source stressed that such situations are not uncommon, especially among teenagers in the county. There is a need for the national government to act effectively in order to apprehend those who traffic or bring harmful substances into the country, gradually destroying the youth.
However, Student Can Wilson is pleading for forgiveness, adding that his arrest has brought disgrace to his family and his school.
“I am pleading with everyone to kindly forgive me because I made a big mistake as a student. I promise that it happened because I followed friends, and I won’t do so again”.
Meanwhile, authorities at the SDA School in Buchanan have immediately expelled student Can Wilson for what they termed as shamefully and disgracefully misrepresenting the school.
