Malaga, Spain – Mr. Rodney Sieh, Editor/Publisher of FrontPageAfrica has been declared winner of this year’s X-International Press Freedom Award.
Ruth de Frutos, coordinator of the UNESCO Chair of Communication at the University of Malaga Spain, made the pronouncement Wednesday, notifying the FPA head of the award granted at the request of the UNESCO Chair of Communication, who together with the board of the Association of Degrees of Communication and Information (ATIC) of Spain granted the award.
The official academic ceremony in which the prize will be awarded will be on November 12th at the University of Malaga.
The Editor will also participate in another event in Madrid
the day after, on November 13th.
The Galardone was won in other editions by Caddy
Azduba (Congo), the newspapers that published Wikileaks, El Roto (Spain), Lucía
Lagunes (Mexico), Fran Llorente – RTVE (Spain), C-Libre (Onduras), Dogan Tiliç (Turkey)
and Maria Ressa (Philippines).
