FrontPageAfrica gathered that other relatives and residents of Cllr. Scott’s home have been charged by the police. They include Rebecca Youdeh Wisner, Gertrude Newton, and Alice Johnson.
Cllr. Scott and her family were invited to the police headquarters in Monrovia on Tuesday where it was expected that they would be forwarded to court, however, despite four months of investigation, the police spokesman disclosed on Tuesday that investigation is still ongoing. This comes after relatives and lawyers of the former Chief Justice had informed the press that the police have leveled charges against the former Chief Justice.
Speaking to the press at the police headquarters Cllr. Scott’s son, Nyowo Scott, questioned the police decision to charge his mother with murder. He insinuated that the charges were politically motivated.
“What is this, politics? The murderer is out there, and my mother is innocent. Why are people tarnishing her reputation? We are prepared to fight back, and our legal team will vigorously defend her,” he said.
He continued, “My mother has been wrongly charged, but we are prepared to fight. It’s time for battle, and our legal team is ready. Those who have spread negative rumors about my mother should prepare themselves for the truth to prevail.”
He further highlighted the lack of action in finding the true murderer, attributing it to political interference. Nyowo Scott confirmed the charges leveled against his mother but emphasized that the family is united and prepared to face the legal proceedings head-on.
He said their lawyers are prepared to produce witnesses to testify to the truth.
He told reporters that his mother is in good health and not suffering from any ailments, contrary to assumptions made in the media. He assured the public that Cllr. Scott is fully prepared to face the upcoming legal battle.
The reported charges against Cllr. Scott come as a surprising turn of events in the death of Charloe Musu.
Upon her gruesome murder on February 22, 2023, it was reported that the home of the former Chief Justice was attacked by armed robbers who left no trace of their entry and exit into the Virginia, Brewerville residence of the former Chief Justice.
Charloe was a graduating student of Starz University.
Speaking in an interview with FrontPage Africa following the incident, a next-door neighbor to Counselor Scott, Mr. Alvin Gezzie, disclosed that the victim Charloe was stabbed multiple times in her abdomen, arms, and other parts of her body by the alleged robbers.
According to him, the deceased bled profusely and died in his car while en route to the nearby hospital. “I was in door when I heard people shouting that criminals were in the community. And I thought the criminal was grabbed. But later I got to know that it was an armed robbery attack at the residence of the former Chief Justice for the third time,” he said.
Cllr. Scott had reported that she used pepper spray on the armed robber and escaped with other members of the house after Charloe was murdered.
However, the police charges suggest that there may not have been any armed robbery incident at home of the former Chief Justice on the fateful day of the incident. This means, Cllr. Scott and the others charged may have taken part in the murder of Charloe Musu.
