Monrovia — Former Minister of States, Nathaniel F. McGill, has been alarmed over a fake audio recording, linking him to setting up a company in Liberia, and has disassociated himself from said video.

The audio features an unknown individual who is purporting to be the Margibi Senator-elect.
The audio has been parading social media since it was posted by pseudo-accounts, claiming to be Minister McGill’s WhatsApp and Facebook pages.
However, McGill in a Facebook post on his office account distanced himself from the said scheme, clarifying that the accounts used are not his official Facebook and WhatsApp pages.
“My attention has been drawn to fake, and slanderous WhatsApp and Facebook accounts created in my name, with my picture, speaking like me, and defrauding people of their hard-earn money,” McGill noted.
McGill in the post to the public, especially the online community, elucidated that he has not authorized anyone to set up, operate, or make any post on his behalf with such an account.
He clarified that he has only one Facebook account and phone number to contact family and friends and that his only approved Facebook page is: Hon. Nathaniel F. McGill and not the pseudo-accounts.
At the same time, McGill noted that he continued to report these outlawed activities to the police about whosoever was involved with using WhatsApp and Facebook accounts, using his photo, and pretending to speak like him.
Besides, he said they are also defrauding people and continue to carry it out.
“We are again warning the public to be mindful of these criminal individuals. Anytime, someone calls you Nathaniel McGill, please verify by asking the person to do a video call so that you can see the person,” McGill noted.
He has cautioned the public to avoid negotiating business deals with people in his name.
Meanwhile, McGill has lauded the Liberia National Police for arresting some of the individuals in the past but maintained that the practice persists.
