Monrovia – Police have charged a 27-year-old woman with murder after she allegedly stabbed her brother, who later died while he was being taken to the hospital.

The incident, according to the police, occurred in the Cow Field Community of Du Port Road, Paynesville on June 3. Louise Demen was formally charged by the police following an investigation and was sent to the Monrovia City Court at the Temple of Justice on June 15 for prosecution.
Police stated that investigation conducted into the death of the late Melvin Nathaniel reveals that on June 3 when the deceased got home from work he met his sister, Louise Demen, cooking and when he attempted wasting a water where she was cooking, Louise held the bucket which angered him to rain insult at her. The incident then erupted into bitter exchanges between the two.
The police added that a witness intervened, but the quarrel did not end and when that witness left the scene, the siblings continued the verbal altercation prompting Louise to allegedly stab the deceased in his left chest with a knife.
The police charge sheet added that after the deceased was stabbed, he ran from the scene but fall before a drainage when he attempted crossing the road.
Community members, who were on the scene, rescued him and while they were taking him to the hospital, he died on the way.
Defendant Demen after stabbing her brother, according to the police investigation, reported herself at the nearest Police Depot from where she was later transferred to the Police Headquarters in Monrovia.
The deceased and the accused were biological brother and sister who were always at loggerhead, the Police said in its report.
