Monrovia – The Supreme Court has ordered the appearance of the Chairperson of the National Elections Commission (NEC) and all Commissioners and officers of the NEC to appear before before Associate Justice Jamesetta Howard Wolokolie on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 9:00 a.m to give reasons why the opposition Unity Party’s Petition for Mandamus should not be granted.
The Unity Party early this week petitioned the Supreme Court for a Writ of Mandamus on the National Elections Commission that would compel the Commission to make available copies of the Final Registration Roll (FRR).
Furthermore, the NEC has been commanded to make the FRR for each magisterial area available for public inspection during normal business hours and provide electronic copies to stakeholders in a secured form by 4:00 p.m. on the same day.
