EDITOR’S NOTE: THIS IS A BREAKING STORY AND WOULD BE UPDATED AS WE RECEIVE MORE INFORMATION
MONROVIA – The by-election in Chien District, Grand Gedeh County has been halted due to the influx of some citizens with voting ID cards that do not belong to voting precincts in that electoral district.
FrontPageAfrica gathered that hundreds of voters were trucked from other parts of the county to Chien District. It remains unclear which candidate is responsible for the trucking.
According to reports, the by-election was also halted at the Faith International School Precinct Center with code 15074 in the county. Voters there have expressed concern over the change in the precinct number from 15076 to 25074 which belongs to a precinct center in electoral district 3, Barteyjan.
When contacted for comments, the Chairman of the National Elections Commission, Madam Davidetta Brown-Lansannah referred FPA to the call center. However, multiple calls placed to the call center were not answered.
