GBARNGA – The Linda Glover Christian Foundation High School, the emerging microcosm of academic excellence, is an initiative of the Church of Christ Mission and the Linda Glover Christian Home which originated from the township of West Point, Monrovia, Liberia.
The School has grown to be one of the best senior high schools in Liberia due to its consistency in the inculcation of academic excellence and moral discipline.
The 32 graduates received diplomas in the presence of their smiling parents and well-wishers after completing all required courses prescribed courses by the institution.
According to the academic highlights, a total of 33 senior students sat for the WASSCE exams, with 32 scoring passing marks and one failing.
In a special remark, the principal of the school, Mr. Otis D. Nyemah, congratulated the graduates for their hard work and studiousness which result they were celebrating.
Mr. Nyemah: “On behalf of the Board of Directors and Administration of the Linda Glover Christian Foundation High School, I would like to congratulate you for successfully completing your prescribed courses of studies at one of the best schools in Liberia and also for your successful pass in the WASSCE exams. “
“You are completing high school at a time when the education sector of our beloved country is in need of positive change makers, ” he continued.
The Linda Glover principal at the same time encouraged the graduates to rightfully apply what they have acquired from the classroom in the larger society.
“Be a solution and not a problem, live out what you have taken in, do not expect change, work harder to introduce change, do not be a conformer, be a transformer, ” he said.
In his valedictory speech, the valedictorian of the graduating class, student Wonder B. Targae, challenged his fellow graduates to continue to aim high as they walk through the walls of the institution.
Student Wonder Targae stated that the diplomas received was just the beginning of the stride for greatness.
“As we receive our diplomas today, let us not forget that there are numerous more difficult steps ahead. Let us use today’s success not only as a mere festival, but as a trump-card to attaining the bigger and greater ones ahead,” he averred.
“Let us continue to put smile on the faces of our parents as this is the only payback for the efforts and resources invested in us,” he said.
Valedictorian Targae also admonished his fellow graduates to always rise up to the occasion in fully and ably representing the institution as they leave the school for the larger society.
Guest speaking at the graduation ceremony, Mr. Arthur B. David, a renowned Liberian educator, called on the graduates to exercise moral uprightness and discipline as they enter the society.
Mr. David said the education acquired will be absolutely nothing in the absence of discipline.
The Liberian educator also encouraged the graduates to continue to aim high, stating that only those who aim high succeed in the job market.
He prayed for God’s continual blessings, protection and guidance upon the graduates as they brace for the next challenge ahead.
The graduation ceremony which was held over the weekend, marked the institution’s third commencement since its establishment.
