Roseline, an articulated Dump Truck (ADT) operator died on duty in the accident in the morning hours of Thursday, June 6, 2024, at the iron ore mines in Yekepa.
The incident occurred when the ADT truck she was operating somersaulted from a hill, leading to her untimely demise.
According to reports, the ADT truck driven by Borbor lost control while navigating a hill within the mine premises, causing it to overturn.
The incident has prompted a temporary shutdown of the mines for an immediate review of safety protocols and procedures at the Iron Ore Mines to prevent similar accidents in the future.
However, Arcelor Mittal Liberia has extended its deepest sympathies to Roseline’s family during this incredibly challenging time and said it is supporting the family and will continue to do so.
“Roseline, an Articulated Dump Truck (ADT) operator joined ArcelorMittal Liberia a year ago and has since been an exemplary employee, known for her dedication, professionalism, and kindness,” Arcelor Mittal said in a communication.
“Her contributions to the business and the positive impact she made on everyone around her will always be remembered.”
