MONROVIA — The Joint Security has confirmed the removal from the country of a Ghanaian, Sumson Essien Jr., from Liberia and back to his home, Ghana, after a Joint Security investigation established he entered Liberian borders and engaged in employment without resident and work permits, in violation of Liberia’s Alien and Nationality Law and the Decent Work Act of 2015.

MONROVIA – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Liberia has issued a statement refuting the allegations made by Wynee Cummings Wilson, a former staff member at the Permanent Mission of Liberia to the United Nations in New York. In a video circulating on social media, Ms. Wilson claimed to be an employee of the Mission and accused Minister Dee Maxwell Kemayah of sexual harassment.

MONROVIA – Liberia Conservation Works, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), conducted a six-week training on law enforcement and human rights for Liberia’s Forestry Development Authority (FDA) rangers in Sapo National Park (SNP), and East Nimba Nature Reserve (ENNR), community biomonitoring auxiliaries in SNP and community eco-guards in ENNR SNP and ENNR were chosen as locations for their training as they are both heavily threatened by increased pressure from poaching, illegal logging and mining activities, and exploitation of non-timber forest products.
